I have been a loyal customer to Creative. I feel that they make and market good products and when I needed it, they had excellent repair service. I have owned Soundblaster 16, 32 and 64 and I now have a Live! I also own a 3D Blaster graphics card. Now, I own their USB modem: the Modemblaster DE5670.
The installation was easy, though I had to go into the device manager to update the modem driver. It was showing up as a question mark.
For Windows 2000, the driver is very poor. For one, the modem will disconnect when downloading a huge file because of no browser activity (it thinks it is idle.) Also, when connecting, it wont show the true connect speed.
The modem itself is sold. I rarely get a dropped call or sluggish connection (besides normal peak time traffic.) The speaker is a bit noisy, so I turned mine off.
Overall, this is an excellent modem to have for Win 9x or ME users. Windows 2000 users, for now, should look elsewhere.
