Basically a good monitor, pretty unremarkable, as most middle of the road monitors are. Therefore there isn't that much to say, I'll briefly go through some of the features:
Adjustments: The digital controls are easy to use and the oncreen menus are fairly well set up however Acer would do good to check out the on screen menus from some other manufactorers for a simpler way to handle the interface.
Size: The 54e is actually quite compact and light, shouldn't be a problem fitting it on most desks.
Price: Very affordable monitor, without going to some no-name brand there aren't that many montiors that offer a better price-feature ratio.
Build Quality: Seems fine, I've roughed up several of these monitors without incident.
Display: There's nothing particularily "wrong" with the display, and for most users it should suffice, however when compared with (usually higher priced) 15" monitors from Sony, Viewsonic and other mainstream manufactuors it becomes quite evident that the blackness and picture quality are second rate. Anyone using high res graphics or playing a lot of graphic intensive games might be better off to save their pennies for something a little upmarket.
