Pros: Bright screen, great deal for the price.
Cons: Large, takes up a lot of depth and space.
The Bottom Line: Buy it ... then crank down the high-powered brightness and contrast settings to a level that won't leave you blind :-)

| Studley's Full Review: Mag Innovision InnoVision 800 CRT Monitor |
I bought this monitor about 6 months ago. I've only used cheap, generic 15-inch monitors before ... you know, the kind that you have the brightness and contrast cranked up to the max and the screen still looks dim.
So obviously this monitor was a huge step up for me. In fact it was so bright with such good contrast (both are signs of a good monitor), I had a headache for the first few days of viewing this monitor. Then I tinkered with the adjustments, turning the contrast and brightness way down, and no more headache!
I do publication design and layout work all day long on my PC, so I've given this monitor a thorough test. I bought it because it was highly rated by the tech magazines. I'm quite pleased with its sharpness, color and, as I mentioned above, brightness and contrast. For the low price, I don't think this monitor can be beat.
Surprisingly, I was going to buy it online ... then I happened to see it at a local Walmart for about $20 cheaper than the best online price I could find. So check your local Walmart before ordering this online.
A warning, however, if you have an older PC like I do: When you upgrade to any large, high-resolution monitor, you may have to upgrade your video card -- as I did. My 2 year old original video card wouldn't support all the features of this new monitor. That added about $75 to the overall cost of upgrading my monitor.
In all, however, it was worth it. Once you're used to a larger screen, you'll never go back.
