| dengland's Full Review: Sony CPD 100ES CRT Monitor |
If you are looking for a good 15 inch monitor may I suggest the Sony 100ES. I’ve been delighted with the clear, crisp screen. Both text and graphics are easy to view.
This monitor is a Trinitron, with a 0.25mm aperture grille pitch. In the world of monitors, a 0.28 pitch is considered adequate. However, a lower number is considered more precise.
The monitor contains easy to use settings on the front. You can adjust brightness, contrast, color, geometry, size and centering. You many never have to use them if your picture comes up as nicely as mine.
The swivel base makes it convenient to turn the monitor from side to side and up and down for maximum viewing placement.
My monitor is attached to a Macintosh computer. This required a VGA to Mac video adapter. I chose the Sony monitor over a Mac monitor because of the better pitch and lower price. I chose a 15 inch monitor because a 17 inch monitor would not fit into my computer center. Otherwise, I may have moved up to a bigger viewing area.
You may be able to find a used or refurbished model on the many auction sites. If you find one, grab it. You won’t be disappointed. Even new, this monitor is worth the price.
