When I decided to buy a monitor, the quality was my aim.
A friend of mine has convinced me that Sony makes the best
monitors in the world, which makes sense of course.
I've read some user reviews on the net, and they obviously
strongly discourage from buying a Sony "Made In Mexico".
Nevertheless I ordered Sony G400, with a special word to
sales department that it should not be from Mexico.
Who cares. The monitor is here and it has "Made In Mexico"
right in front of the box.
To say that I'm disappointed is to say nothing. Bad focus,
really bad, I was even unable to adjust it using manual
convergence controls. Blurry lower-right corner, very poor
bright/dark stability, which means that the geometry
is being curved depending on the amount of white in the
current scan line. And what simply kicked me out - it has
a scratch on inside the screen, small black scratch, about
1 mm long near right edge of screen.
Photo of the scratch: <a href= http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/6651/temp/scratch.gif >here</a>.
For the most expensive monitor in its class - no thank you.
P.s. I've sent it back after all, the replacement
Panasonic PF90 is _much_ better, and it's "made in Japan" :)
Unfortunately epinions do not have Panasonic monitors
to review at all.
