The old iMacs came with the worst mouse foisted upon consumers since the days of the Mac Classic. The new iMacs come with the best mice since the Classic - that is to say, ever.
The optical ProMouse offers, for the most part, unrivaled freedom from the frustrations of a mouse going awry because of a gunked-up ball or fouled rollers. There are no moving parts on this bad boy, so mechanical problems are a thing of the past.
Besides working well, they look cool, too... but you already knew that. Just like with the newer iMacs, Apple makes no apologies for its silicon form, flaunting its electrical components as a thing of beauty. This lends a simple elegance to the mouse that none other can lay claim to.
The concept of making the entire mouse a button is an interesting one that eliminates the multi-button functions of the mice of yesteryear while facilitating the elegant styling already mentioned.
Other than the lack of multiple buttons, my only two beefs with this mouse are that the cord is too short and every now and then the cursor will take a mind of its own and go flying randomly across the screen... but this is very rare.
