I bought this mouse because my old mouse was shot and this was the first one I saw. I didn't really know what was special about it. There were plenty of more expensive ones which might well have worked better, but expensive products don't always, and it's less frustrating when inexpensive products don't live up to expectations.
Standard Mouse Stuff
This mouse has shown decent performance with rather heavy use. I actually get better results putting it directly on the surface of my old wooden desktop than I ever did with an inexpensive mouse pad. It hasn't always given fantastic performance in online games which require you to aim with both speed and precision, but other than that it's done everything I want it to. Once in awhile I have to click on a link twice. This might not be the best mouse for drawing graphics, but I'm happy with it.
Scroll button
The grey button in the middle of your mouse is not just another button. Position the uurson in the middle of the screen. If you press the top (the side of the button farthest away from your wrist) the screen will scroll up. If you press the bottom of the button it will scroll down. If nothing happens you're pressing the middle of the button and trying to scroll both ways at once - be careful, this could cause your monitor to explode.
Mega scroll button
Now position the mouse in the middle of the screen. Click the little button on the left side of the mouse - it's not just an extra button they had lying around the factory. A strange icon will appear in the middle of the screen. Just leave it there, you can now scroll up and down even if clicking is too much effort. Move the mouse towards the top of the screen to scroll up and towards the bottom to scroll down. Click the same button again to get rid of the little icon and turn this form of scrolling off. This feature also gives you three hundred sixty degree scrolling - you can go sideways as well.
Durability
I guess I've had this for about a year of fairly heavy use. I don't really beat up on my mouse, but I do use it a fair amount. It's held up well, and it's been a long time since I've cleaned the mouse ball.
Overall
I'd recommend this mouse for anyone who doesn't have highly exacting artistic requirements. If you do, you're probably better off with a track ball or something more exotic.
