| DudeFace's Full Review: Microsoft Intelli Explorer (B75-00001) Mouse |
As the first generation of computer cripples increases its ranks, the need for ergonomic mice will grow. Until that perfect mouse is built, the Intelli-Mouse Pro from Microsoft fills the gap.
I've spent hundreds of dollars trying find that perfect mouse. I've tried finger mice, stick mice, touch pads, mice of every size and shape imaginable. In my attempts to find a mouse that causes no stress on your arms and wrists, I have even tried some of the far out designs that seem better suited as space ship controls then as computer pointers. Out of them all, as much as I hate giving Microsoft credit for anything, the Intelli-Mouse Pro wins the prize.
The Intelli-Mouse Pro is a good compromise between usability, and the need to keep your arm, wrist and fingers in a neutral position. Based on the standard Intelli-Mouse, the Pro is a two button mouse with the center scroll wheel. Durable. Accurate. Hefty without being heavy, it is easily moved about without being prone to nudging and desk vibrations. A pleasure to use. Best of all, its high hump keeps your fingers curved, cutting down on the strain that leads to carpal tunnel syndrome.
The Bads: At $80 it's a bit pricey.
The Goods: A solid mouse that cuts down on wrist strain.
It's not perfect, but currently, the Intelli-Mouse Pro is as good as it gets. Especially if your sitting at a desk, mousing all day.
