corey415's Full Review: Microsoft Intelli Optical (D58-00026) Mouse
I wanted a cool optical mouse for my system, and it was either a logitech or microsoft mouse. Logitech mice are good, but I was worried about compatibility issues with xp. Since the intellimouse is made by msoft, I knew there were not going to be issues in that respect.
The mouse has nice ergonomics, and the side buttons are very useful. I find them especially helpful while gaming, where two extra mouse buttons can make more of a difference than you can imagine.
There is not performance hit when using this mouse, personally I believe its much better than a mouse with a ball. I guess the lag only applied to the first generation optical mouse.
In terms of reliability, I have used this mouse for 1 year so far. I leave my computer on 24/7 and I have not had any problems with this mouse.
