This mouse is great. Not only does it do away with the mouse pad altogether, it has extra buttons for added functionality. The software included allows for complete customization of all the buttons and can make life even easier! I've programmed the thumb button to double-click, now a single click is all I have to do to get anywhere. (I guess I'm just lazy!) I personally think the color scheme of this mouse is just fine, there are metallic grey accents and has a cool red glow emanating from it's tummy.
The absence of a trackball allows you to use it on just about any non-reflective surface. Since it senses mouse movement with laser technology, the reflections of any shiny surface can make the pointer jumpy. And since it's a laser, don't look into it!
This mouse is a bit larger than your typical mouse and it all depends on preference (and hand size) on how comfortable you are with it. I have no problem with the size of the mouse and I find the contouring of the mouse fits the natural curve of your hand. It's symmetrical so it will work with left-handers as well.
The scroll works great but it doesn't feel as smooth as other scroll mice. It has a little *clicking* sound when you scroll but it's just the way the product was designed, not a manufacturer error. The actual scrolling action is no different than any other quality scroll mouse. This mice definitely makes surfing easier, what with the scroll button and extra side buttons.
I highly recommend this product, it makes getting around on your computer easier and more efficient.
