| webtipzcom's Full Review: Acer TravelMate 342T PC Notebook |
I bought an Acer Travelmate 342 this January, I guess it must have been one of the first notebooks in stock, but finally it's been a good decision.
First of all, it's a very lightweight and slim notebook, just Sony Vaio notebooks are as thin as Travelmate. It makes sense having the CD-ROM/DVD external, but think about it - if you need CD's every day it might be a pain.
The processor is very fast (PIII 500), actually it could have a little bit more RAM, but it's easy adding another 64MB's. The small computer allows you to work everywhere.
If you are using your notebook for working at home, too, it might be useful to use another screen, a larger one. 800x600 lets you scroll a lot.
The good thing is that a 10/100 EtherCard and a 56k Modem is inside...I am from Europe, so that's not standard there.
Check it out, if you do not need a CDRom and if you are looking for a slim, lightweight notebook you should consider buying an Acer,
