| bignoyd20's Full Review: Apple PowerBook G3 (M7308LL/A) Mac Notebook |
In my 6 years as a computer engineer I have gone through countless computers from thinkpads to Apple IIgs. For the most part, I was always disappointed by the performance of portable computers and never considered one for my purposes. That is until I came accross Apple's new line of portables. Their G3 Powerbooks have everything you will ever need(want for that matter) out of a computer. Needless to say, it didn't take me too long to fall in love with this new toy and have one on my lap. The original Powerbook G3 250 I purchased about a year ago had absolutely blown me away with its performance and design. But let me tell you, the new Powerbook 500 Pismo I purchased last month improved on a good thing and seriosly wooped my old 250's butt(especially since it cost nearly $2000 less). The new line is lighter, FASTER!! and thinner. The video performance is greatly improved(thank God!).My only complaint to Apple is that they are too fragile for a notebook that is likely going to be have to put up with some torture. The rubber surface is very easily scratched which exposes the shiny metal underneath, but other than asthetics I can't really complain. These new PowerBooks have everything and anything you will ever need. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to buy a new computer(not necessarily a portable). Afterall, a computer has become so much a part of our lives that it no longer makes sense to have it anchored in one place. A Powerbook gives you the freedom to use your computer wherever you want it.
I hope you find this product as incredible as I did.
