I just received my PB G3 (2000)/500, and I couldn't be happier! I turned it on and saw Apple's new configuration software - very cool! Software installation is a breeze thanks to the built-in CD/DVD drive, and the screen is huge compared to my old laptop!
The model I got is the 500 mHz, and I'm still getting used to the speed of it! The keyboard is easy to get used to, and the trackpad is just what I expected (but I'm still getting used to the whole idea of "tapping" on the pad to click). The screen is crisp and clear, with no defective pixels that I've found so far. I haven't noticed any of the "keyboard imprints in the display" problem yet, but I haven't had it long enough ;).
The DVD player is a great thing to put in a laptop - I usually have my laptop with me when I travel, so now I just have to carry a movie or 2 and I'll be set for entertainment, either on the plane or when I get where I'm going.
I bought mine with the Airport card pre-installed and a Base Station, and I couldn't be happier with them (see <A HREF= http://www.epinions.com/cmd-review-1AC7-70FB1FF-395B8370-prod2 >my review</a> of it).
Apple's learned from their mistakes, and it's nice to see that they're continuing to innovate while they're at it!
