Pros: Gorgeously stylish, petite & light. Great warranty!
Cons: Not so comfortable for extended use, expensive Apple peripherals.
The Bottom Line: If you must travel with a laptop this should be it. It is light, comfortable, durable, easy to use & extremely friendly - not to mention fantastic looking!

White iBook, 256 RAM DVD 10G HD OS 9.1
Everything about this machine is aesthetically pleasing. Even the box it comes in. The styrofoam packing was even beautifully shaped to hold the ibook, OSX, yo yo adapter, & small instruction booklets. Even a set of white Apple stickers were included.
It took less than 3 minutes to set up & have it running. For once plug & play really meant just that. A short registry & internet set up process & I was ready to test drive my new iBook. Fantastic!
I got the DVD iBook for travel entertainment & it has been on several road trips & performed beautifully. We plug the headphone jack into the car stereo so the sound is loud enough - it's like a book on tape to the driver. DVDs are beautiful on screen & the controller is easy to use. the keyboard disc eject is somewhat odd though. So far the 10G hard drive seems roomy enough although I haven't installed OSX yet. I ordered extra RAM on this one, & am glad I did. It is nice & zippy.
This is my first Apple product since the ones I used in Highschool computer lab 10 years ago. Making the transition from PC was a big decision & I was seriously worried that I might have too much trouble learning the OS to enjoy the book. Not so, I found that Windows mirrors Mac so similarly that after a few initial blunders it was extremely easy to use.
The iBook comes with some great programs. iTunes, which comes with a nice & relatively (not enough jazz) diverse musical selection, as well as one of the Harry Potter books in audio form is great. Easy to use, self explanatory & fun.
iMovie is great, too. Finally I can edit my little digital movies. The ones where the baby does something fantastic & then there's 15 seconds of silence while I wait for her to repeat it? no more! I can snip that right off, add sound effects, music whatever I want. It comes with a tutorial that is quick & makes mastery a cinch.
Another thing that I loved about this computer is being able to give it a voice - so it reads aloud any actions or errors that appear on the screen. Also being able to easily give it new phrases to speak. I love when she says : Are you threatening me? & then proceeds to tell me I've lost my connection.
I love that I can change my desktop & icons using Kaleidoscope & change the whole mood of my desktop, as well. (something I couldn't really do on PC) One of the first things I did was surf over to aroundthepixel.com & change the look!
Recently my dog chewed off the plug in end of my adapter & I was really upset about losing the use of my iBook. No fear! Apple apparently covers dog attacks, since they sent me a new one free of charge. That is a huge plus to me.
I have heard some concerns that the acrylic shell might scratch easily but so far i haven't noticed & this thing has been around. It has been dropped twice even.
I hope this is helpful, I may have gotten carried away! All in all I think it is a fantastic traveller or regular use computer with great upgradeability, comfort & style.
