Who would have thought that it is possible for one to fall in love with their laptop? When I think of words to describe my Compaq 1200 words such as "buddy" and "pal" come to mind. I was looking for a laptop to replace my old one that met its untimely death by Kool Aid execution. After much searching I came upon this one. Having a budget of less than $2000 and the computer tastes of Bill Gates, I was looking for something fast, cheap and with a DVD. That's where this little guy came into the picture. It is large enough to accomadate my average sized hands, light enough that it doesn't put my back out and has a large enough screen that my severe astigmatism isn't challenged further. As a professional who works from home, car and office - it is the almost perfect answer to my ongoing struggle with organization. I can email from the sofa. I can listen to MP3's while surfing. I can bring it to my single friends' houses to find them internet dating sites. It really is a wonder. Likewise, Compaq's tech support and repair has been great. (Yes I did drop it once and crash the hard drive!) It was back within a week. Needless to say if you are searching for a computer that will be your own buddy, I would strongly recommend buying this one!
