Good buy out of 500 MHz laptops

I searhced all over the mail order catalogs, local computer stores (CompUSA, BestBuy, Circuit City etc.) and the internet for mid range > 13" TFT Active Matrix XGA display.
Final budget buy is Compaq Presario 1200 Xl-111.
Even though it uses AMD K-6 II 500MHz processor, it's speed is as good as PIII 500 MHz (As most of my use is Front page publishing, internet browsing and office applications). Memory 64 Mb, 6 Gb hard drive and 56 K modem is enough for above use.
The display is good. Compaq did not supply the Windows-98 CD (Software is already loaded onto the hard disk). In case of any problems with Windows, I can not recover from the problem.
Price paid - $1661. I liked the service of vendor (CDW), as the item was shipped on same day, and the shpping is very cheap ($16).
Sound - comes with JBL speakers. No bulit in microphones.
All other manufacturer's PCs with these features cost more than $200.
Overall, the performance and reliability is good, in budget PCs.
