A Laptop Always In My Lap!!!

Pros: Active Matrix screen, Reliable 24hr Tech support,
Cons: Had the modem problem, Now the Safe mode issue Tech support says is resolved with the recent download from the web site they gave me.. no safe mode problems since then through modem...<two days ago>

The Compaq Presario 1270 I got on sale through Office Max for $1199. It never leaves my lap which has caused logistical problems at home (bathing, dressing, eating,etc.) It is not that the laptop did not have a problem...It kept going into Safe Mode...did that within the first 12 hours.
Called the Compaq Tech service. In 5 minutes, all was well. Compaq tech service reps are THE BEST. Informed, intelligent, polite, helpful, in ten minutes you're up and running.
It's bad enough when it seems like you have a major issue wrong with the laptop and have to call the tech rep...Unbelievable when they NEVER let you down and in 10 minutes have not only the problem solved, but always check and tweak one extra thing to make sure all is in tip top shape. Hats off to Compaq Tech team.
Even the going into Safe Mode I experienced, which feared meant using warrantee and new laptop and all that implies, with call two days ago to Compaq Tech Serv Rep, they have THAT solved. Got a web site address URL and downloaded 3 minute click on they recommended and the problem is fixed. (Time will tell but have learned to trust Compaq without a doubt!)
Compaq has taken this former loyal HP customer and make her a forever Compaq fan.
