Why waste your money on a laptop, especially this laptop? For the price of this laptop, you can get a fully loaded personal computer, complete with monitor, printer, and plenty of accessories.
But if you insist upon buying a laptop, at least consider the alternatives. This is a decent system, don't get me wrong, but you tell me, Wouldn't you rather have a laptop that didn't crash every time you turned it on? Wouldn't you like to be able to browse the internet while connected, or connect at that? Wouldn't you like to play those DVD's or CD's while you are working, and not have a choppy, if even that image or sound eminate from your machine?
If you do want those things, choppy music, bad movie images, no web-browsing capabilities, and a system all set to crash on nothing...then go right ahead, be my guest, buy this system now. If you notice i didn't even really mention the cost part yet.
Now, on to my biggest argument, the topics of Customer Service and the expense factor. Compaq...need i say more. All of my friends went with Compaq computers desktops or laptops, it really doesn't matter too much, they both need work. Every single one of them had to take back their computers within a month, either their hard drive got fried, or their hardware got destroyed, or something wrong happened. They always lost Windows, and most also lost all of their saved documents.
Cost wise, these computers aren't the best in their price range either. Buy a Dell, it also has similar problems, but the customer service is one-hundred percent better, and quicker. At least, if your computer crashes and you send it in for repair or replacement...wouldn't you want it back within 2 weeks (like Dell offers) instead of 2 months? Think about it.
Another thought...why don't people just buy year old computers for half to one third of the brand new computers price, then spend the money you save upgrading. This is definitely the cheapest way to go, besides building from scratch. Buy a year old computer, spend the extra money on hardware, software, and expansions, then, there you go. A top of the line computer, even better than what the company offers, for the same or a cheaper price. Plus, you chose what to expand, which name to buy, and exactly what you wanted, and didn't have to have the hassle of paying Dell or Compaq a service charge.
