Well, i purchased the Compaq Presario 1685 a couple of months ago at the price of $1400 which was very cheap,after selling my other Compaq Presario 1640. This little laptop is great. I use this little machine everywhere. it also has a DVD, which is great, but the only con about the DVD is that it's very slow, and when you sit down to watch a movie it is a bit in slow motion.. Of course the speed is 4x, so you can't really expect that much..
What is very good about this little laptop is the speed. It's very fast, and i never expected it to be that fast for the speed of 380mhz. It surfs the net in a very good speed , and i just love that.
Also the speakers of this computer are great.. you feel just like you are at the movies.
I am a little disappointed with the monitor; its only 12 inches, but you can still walk around with it. Its extremely clear and the graphics are just great.
If i would change one thing on this computer, i would probably upgrade the Hard drive, because its much too small.
This little laptop is great when travelling and i would definitely recommend it.
