Pros: Very Stable with a nice sleek look
Cons: Tends to get pretty warm and more RAM would help on performance.

I use to be a Tech at a major Retail Store and i have seen alot of compaq horror machines. I must admit however that Compaq Notebooks are much much much better than their Desktop units.
The unit is very stable and I have never had any problems with it locking up like the desktops tends to do. I'm currently running windows 98 and windows 2k. The Win2k partion runs very nice and every bit of the hardware is compatiable.
The touch pad is very cool too. It is a lot easier to control then the mouse knobs on Toshiba notebooks.
The DVD drive is very reliable too. Now watching DVD's on a laptop screen is not the greatest thing it the world, I know. Since the notebook has a Monitor port on the back all you have to do is connect it to a 19in and you are set!
The speakers I must admit aren't to hot. You wouldn't wanna play MP3's through them and expect to draw attention. However just for your basic Windows operations they work fine.
This Notebook is great for the internet user with it's built in 56k modem. Office 2k runs great on it, but with 64MB of RAM, adding more could help out.
