I bought HP 3250 in March this year.
Before making my purchase I did quite a bit of investigation.
I've read all the information availabe on the web regarding PC notebooks and their specifications. I bought mine in CircuitCity since Best Buy and CompUSA were out of stock for this particular notebook. It probably says a lot already for itself. This notebook is in a great demand, period.
What I love about my "baby":
- Quite Fast 475MHz not bad at all for the notebook, AMD processors are great and fast
- RAM Memory is alright. However, since I am into graphics and design my needs definitely require more than 64 MB. I ordered through CompUSA online an additional 64 MB for only $99 plus $13 shipping/handling/taxes.
So, now after upgrading my PC, I have total of 120MB and 8 MB for the video. It's quite sufficient. I can scan at high resolutions, or run many graphic applications at the same time. I can chat on the internet, use Adobe Photoshop and Office applications at the same time.
- Hard Drive 5.3 GB is alright, Windows itself take around .7 GB of the total 6 GB listed on the box specifications. I store a lot of information on the outside media. However, I think for the average user 5.3 GB is quite sufficient
- I love an external CD player for which you don't even need to run a PC.
- DVD is great. Although, When I first bought my PC, DVD was with some defects. It is VERY IMPORANT to test DVD when you first buy HP3250.
However, I returned my first 3250 and got a new one right away from CircuitCIty...and now it works great. I watch 2-3 DVDs a week and it never caused me any more problems.
What I don't love about my "baby":
Overall, I love my PC3250, and am very glad I have purchased this model.
- Sometimes, I wish I had a bigger than 12.1 inch screen, but overall it's great.
- Like most notebooks, my PC tends to heat up after running for a while.
- The battery that comes in the package tends to run out pretty fast, i would say around 60 minutes or so...however, I use the power outlet most of the time so it doesn't really matter
PC3250 - ROCKS AND RULZ !!!!!!!
