| deftdrummer's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Pavilion N3310 (F1926A) PC Noteboo... |
--Backrground--
I bought this laptop from circuit city when it first came out. I got the display model and that saved me a few hundred right there. As an entry level laptop this seemed like the best choice for me, plus I had heard very good things about HP's reputation.
--Size--
The lap top is quite old now (about 5 years old) yet still keeps up looks wise with the other lap top's coming out on the market now. Granted they are much faster and have way more storage and options, but the sleek look of the N3310 and tight package fool more people than one as to how old it is.
--Performance--
I opted for the 56MB of Ram model with only a regular cd drive bay. The computer's processor is an AMD K6 II which is approximately the same speed as a pentium II. The ram on my particular model could have been a bit higher to make it a bit faster, but 56 suffices for most basic applications (word processing, music, internet) In fact, i still use this laptop for school papers and internet when my desktop is down (all the time).
--Reliability--
I am somewhat of a computer guru and I love organizing and downloading things off the internet. I have owned at least 5 desktops in my life and I would have to say that this Pavilion notebook PC is by far the most reliable PC i have had thus far. Sure it's had it's program glitches and what not here and there, but functionality wise the only problem ive had is the fan screwed up and started making noise so I unhooked it. A measely $2 fix if i cared to do so.
--Battery Life--
The pavilion Pc comes with some form of power saving software installed that has many many power saving options that come in handy for conserving battery life. Now im not 100% what is the deal with my battery, maybe it's cause the computer is so old....but my battery life sucks. Im pretty sure it's the age of the PC and battery in general, but on average with a full charge i would have to say i get about 45 mins of use out of it.
