| SHAPIRO2's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Pavilion N3370 (F1929A) PC Noteboo... |
I recently bought a Pavilion N3370 from AlteredPC in Southern California. It is very fast (650Mhz - AMD K6-3+) has lots of RAM (256mb) and plays DVD's like a Denon home theater system. The secret to these computers is the k6-3+ processor that is only available through AlteredPC (714/981-5787). It has 3 stages of cache and is equivalent to a Celeron 667Mhz processor! It blows away the old K6-2. The big, bright 14.1" TFT active matrix screen shows so much more than a 12.1" screen. It produces no glare and can be seen in sunlight. It has everything built-in (56k modem, DVD, floppy, USB). The only bummer about this computer is the battery life is less than excellent @ about 2.5 hours. A comparable Dell Latitude lasts about 3.5 hours... but costs $2,600. But hey, for only $1,600 it's worth it.
