Pros: Comprehensive, comfortable
Cons: Price, not a 570, doesn't do well at 100 deg.

I spent a long time looking for a notebook computer that perfectly suited my needs. The IBM 600E does everything I need, and I have never regretted my choice for a minute.
I wanted a notebook that would replace my desktop machine with no loss of function, but that I could stick in my bag and take with me without its weighing me down.
I didn't want to compromise on keyboard size, and I wanted a bright, crisp screen -- though I didn't need the biggest screen available.
I didn't need it to be fully functional when I was on the road (a floppy OR a CD-ROM drive -- or neither -- were fine with me), but did need it to have both a floppy and a CD-ROM drive at home, so invested in a port replicator for home, which makes hooking things up easy.
The IBM 600E has met my of those needs perfectly, and, after a year, it continues to serve me extremely well. I find it well designed, comfortable, reliable, and enjoyable to use -- and not at all onerous to carry.
The only problem I have had with it were that it did not function well during a week-long summer heat wave, when temperatures reached 100% or more in our UN-air-conditioned home.
And, in some sense, the IBM 570 might have served me even better since it would have offered me the option of traveling with an even lighter weight notebook.
