Start with power and portability and then move on to looks and sleek black. The A20 has to be the best laptop I've ever had the pleasure to use. I've had an A20 for week. Our department is testing 3 of them against our IBM 600E laptop computers. The two machines look similar, large display, light, thin, no frills, but the A20's raw computing power blows the 600 away. But the power isn't the best part.
If you're anything like me, you've failed to jump into the PDA world of computing. I just can't muster an interest in what looks to me like an overgrown calculator. The reason is that I'm a writer and designer by trade. PDAs have much less use for me than for most of the business world. A great thing about the A20 is its wireless capabilities, similar to PDAs but in a laptop. Sure, a laptop will not have all of the convienence of PDAs but the A20 is a nice middle ground for the people who need more power on the go.
I use a laptop as a "desktop replacement." I do this so that while in the office, if I get the notion, I can close the laptop, unplug my monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. and hit the road to home or wherever. Mobile computing is great, but for so long laptop users have had to make a sacrifice in power to gain that portability. No longer.
The A20 is a machine for those who need to drag their desktop computer around with them. The power sacrifice has been reduced so much that users don't have to worry about too little RAM or running out of hard drive space. These little computers work hard and they take up a lot less desk space. Read the specs on the A20 (700MHz PIII), it really is a cool machine.
