I have wanted a laptop forever. They looked cool. They were cool. They were expensive. So I would drool on the models set up at Best Buy until security would remove me because I short-circuited the entire setup. I was infatuated with the concept of being able to bring my computer with me... to be able to play games and ignore everyone ANYWHERE! No more having to deal with annoying people on the bus. I would have the power! Then the gods came upon me and said unto me: "Anastacya, thou will receive a blessing, and thou shall have thy wish, but thou must attend college again". And lo! The next day I saw an ad for Remington College with a laptop pictured! Being thus imbued with the divinity of the gods, I promptly called the number and was soon following my destiny, my very dream of actually getting my own laptop!
Enough about my life. The laptop. The specs provided with this editorial were tweaked for my specific laptop. Mine is merely a standard CD-ROM and a Celeron processor. Yet, this is not witholding my hysteria at actually owning a machine that is awesome! Nevermind the pre-loaded software of the fact that my 6GB hard drive has been partitioned, I am happy with my machine. It boots a little slow, but it presents graphics and sound beautifully. The scroll button makes you not miss a mouse, although it is a little awkward getting used to a pressure-sensitive button instead of a wheel to scroll. The speed of the machine is great, and surfing the net is easy and fun. It is powerful enough to support some of the top gaming software out there (I have Diablo II on mine), and light enough to carry with you anywhere.
If you want a laptop that isn't loaded with the top-of-the-line stuff, but runs excellent and is perfect to create Microsoft Office 2000 projects and/or applications. I would not recommend this specific laptop for heavy gamers, but one or two games are perfect and will run with better-than-average speed. The laptop is easy to use, and is simple enough to master the "mouse" with a little bit of time. It has the power to run a multitude of applications, and the simplicity to not scare even the most daunted of computer [users].
If you are in the market for a laptop, I highly recommend the A20. Ease, speed, and great quality are all in this machine.
