Overview
I thought this laptop was pretty good for it's price. It runs nice, smooth, and most of all, quiet! I hate it when laptops sound like a paper shredder.
Good Things
- Has 100 MHz BUS, and an Intel® Pentium® III Processor 600 MHz speed for quick speed.
- 10.4" XGA TFT Screen with XBRITE with 'polysilicon' technology. The screen is crisp, and the colors are pretty bright, although I've seen brighter.
- NeoMagic MagicMedia 256XL+ with 60 MB SGRAM, AGP, 3D graphics support, 128-bit accelerator and MPEG playback acceleration. I can notice a big difference between this one and my Voodoo5, but hey, it's a laptop.
- 3D Surround Sound is a big plus. I love being to be able to sit at home at night and play games all night long. The 3D sound is so awesome to play Resident Evil type games.
- It's nice to find a laptop with a 12.0 Gb hard drive. I'm sick of companies putting a less than worthy hard drive into a system that should have been better.
- I usually get 3.5-5.5 hours (with supplied battery) before I have to switch batteries. It kind of depends what you're doing, that makes the battery life range so broad.
Other Interfaces
-USB ports for digital cameras, etc.
-i.LINK® S400 Interface
-Audio in makes getting audio from different sources, easier
-RJ-11 phone jack
-MagicGate Memory Stick
-Mic-in - You know what this is :)
-Headphone out - So I can HEAR you better!
-VGA Output (on supplied adapter)
I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this laptop to anyone who wants a cheap, yet good laptop. I would stay away from playing games on this one though, it's not the best gaming laptop. Also, only weighing 2.98 lbs. (with supplied battery), it's not that bad to carry around all day!
