Pros: Very Light weight - Probably 1 of the lightest notebooks in market
Cons: No cdrom/dvd drives and very poor battery life
The Bottom Line: My recommendation is buy ,if you have the money to spend extra on the optional accessories like the cdrom/DVD drive.
The major advantage is lightness.

| pravinkn's Full Review: Sony VAIO Z505JSK PC Notebook |
As my title says , read the specifications carefully before buying the notebook . I did that mistake of not reading it and is paying the price for that .I saw pentium III and very lightweight (3.75lbs) ,the SONY brand name etc... ,but what I didn't notice was that the cdrom/dvd drive is an optional accessory. On top of the heavy price you pay for the laptop , You will have to sell out another 300$ for cdrom drice,400$ for DVD and 500 for cd-rw drive.
And what use is a computer without a cdrom drive.Sony gives you System recoverable and installation CDs, but what use is it if you don't have a drive ???
I have used other notebooks and in comparison ,the battery gets exhausted very fast .Mine gets over in just over an hour;and the specs doesn't mention anything about the battery life.
Other than the 2 points mentioned ,I am quite satisfied with the notebook. It is cute, sleek and handy. Window millenium edition is pre-installed and it has a network card too.
The price is on the higher side in comparison with other brand names with a similar configuration ; but then you have to compromise somewhere!
