| jbrani's Full Review: Toshiba Tecra 8100 (PT810U-12CP7) PC Notebook |
OK,so we were searching for a high-quality laptop for use in our business. Naturally, the boss wants an IBM since it's basically the name he knows. We look at the T20, total up the basics (IBM charges $55 for an adapter plug) and a few add-ons and we're way over our budget. A little more research found us the Tecra 8100 (I'm writing this review on it now) for a lot less money. That's a good point.
Its faster, has more memory and the screen has great graphics. We realized that it's almost impossible to set up exact comparisons between competing brands so we highlighted the major features.
The IBM is a great machine however I've always had the opinion that IBM keeps its prices artifically high because of their name recognition.
For a great workhorse of a laptop with some savings on price, you won't beat the Tecra 8100.
