I live in a constant state of disorganization, but have infinite patience for computers. I turned my constant interest in computers into a new way to organize my life, which found home in the Jornada 420. I purchased mine online from http://www.buy.com, and considering the comparison price, I found this unit was quite competitively priced, considering the options and the upgrades possible! Most useful, I enjoy being able to keep a full sized contact list and on going to do list on my Microsoft Outlook 2000, and keep it constantly synchronized with my Jornada 420, courtesy of the docking station. You can buy a small Pretec 56K modem and go online with this unit, as well as play games, get work done, and keep yourself out of hot water by organizing all your daily activities and responsibilities.
For people looking for cutting edge, perhaps you might be more interested in the pricier Jornada 430, which has twice the RAM and ROM sizes, as well as MP3 playing capabilites. Other drawbacks to the Jornada 420 is the power consumption is quite large: one fully charged battery will begin to drain to half and almost a quarter left after 30 minutes of constant use, so nightly recharge is a must to keep your files. Also, the display screen, while a brilliant color screen indoors or in the office, becomes very flushed out and nearly impossible to read in direct sunlight. Still, if you are looking for something with plenty of utility in day to day life, and you worry less about being able to play solitaire at high noon in no shade for hours on end, this is definately a product for you!
