Pros: Can download software for it off the net easy.
Cons: Can't view big documents in Excel. Not enough room on the screen.

Hi,
I had a Philips Nino that ran the older version of Windows CE. After research, I found that Windows CE was going to get a face lift. Pocket PC took over the old life of the OS System that ran my Nino. I wanted to see if I would be able to upgrade Nino. I couldn't. So, I sold my Nino and after doing a lot of searching on the web that ran the new Pocket PC, I chose the Jornada 540 from HP. I chose the 545 to write about, but my model isn't listed. The 545 is the sister to 540. They are the same unit and mostly same hardware and software.
The Pocket PC promised to be user friendly then the former Windows CE. I found that was the truth! I was like a kid when I ordered my Jornada. I searched all over to find the lowest price and a website that had them in stock. I went to Outpost.com. They had the lowest price and overnite delivery was a for sure thing. I couldn't wait to get it. I hooked up the USB cable that it comes with into my work computer and off it went. Yep, you read right, no more bulky cradle I had with my Nino. I put the ActiveSync CD into my PC and it walked me through step by step.
I like the fact that it copies everything from my Jornada to the PC and vice-Versa. The biggest Improvment and BIG factor was that Pocket PC now supports Email attachments. Just click on the icon in the mailbox on Jornada and it will fetch the attachment associated with the file. What was nice too is that you can view Word and Excel documents, surf the internet offline and does a whole lot more. I carry it with me and I don't need, paper, pens or address books. I keep everything into it. Also, the Tech Support from HP is great! I would recommend this over the Palm Pilot anyday. The screen is clear, great color and comes with a metal hard case that's attached. I had a palm pilot and sold it so fast!
