Replacements are not new!
Written: Apr 19, 2002 (Updated Apr 25, 2003)
Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros:Thin, well protected, cool stylus, rechargable
Cons:bulky springboard attachment; replacements are not brand new units
The Bottom Line: If it stops working expect a lame replacement
It's really lame when Handspring doesnt give new units for warrenty replacements. I had to replace an almost new unit and they send one with a bad battery. So I won't bother with Handspring anymore.
I was lucky, I found a great repair company who charged alot less for a battery than Handspring and my Edge works great! Just wish Handspring was a more reliable company!
If you get one that works, it's a nice little affordable PDA. It should have come with MORE programs like DocsToGo. The case is tough, screen is clear and the size & thinness is a plus. The stylus is cool.
If I were you go look for a Sony or a Compaq PDA or go retro with an Apple Newton MP 2100 which I hear is still very useable today.
