Pros: It's in color, infinitely expandable.
Cons: Bulkier compared to other PDA's but worth it.
The Bottom Line: If you want a color PDA based on the PALM OS the Prism is the way to go. It's much better than PALM's 8 bit.

| game_monkey's Full Review: Handspring Visor Prism Handheld |
After examining the Handspring Prism at CompUSA, and reading up online about what it has to offer, I feel I have made a pretty good buy with the latest offering from Handspring.
COLOR *****
I finished reading a negative review of the Prism and was shocked that the reviewer stated that the Prism's screen was so bad and caused dizziness. First of all, any handheld device with a screen that size will cause dizziness if you stare at it, just like staring at your monitor for hours on end. I must say that the color's (all sixty five thousand) are beautiful especially when you take a look at photos or the game ZAP....
COST ***
The cost of the Prism is its Achilles Heel. You can easily spend a lot of money quickly once you pick up the Prism ($399 @ http://www.shopharmony.com/default.asp?ItemID=1008NA) and by adding any of the Springboard (expandable) modules. For instance, I am considering purchasing the VisorPhone for $299 (if you sign up with a cellular provider) or $499 just for the module without signing up for service (OUCH!). Based on CNET's reviews, the phone doesn't sound like its worth $499 ("mediocre sound quality"). Most of the modules are pretty expensive, even though not quite as much as the VisorPhone.
Module's *****
But the other aspect of the Handspring Prism that makes it so attractive IS its expandability. A quick tour of the Handspring web site and you can see just how easily you can transform your PDA into a GPS, a cell phone, an MP3 player...
The cost of some of the Springboard Modules really don't make it worthwhile...but the fact that you can do it whenever you have the spare cash is what is neat.
Wireless Web? *****
When you Hotsync your Prism with your PC, you can actually download software like avantgo (http://avantgo.com/frontdoor/index.html) or vindigo , and web pages designed for your PDA will be updated. This will allow you to read up on stocks, sports, etc. at your leisure. No more waiting in line or sitting around with nothing to do when you are away from your PC.
Battery ****
The RECHARGABLE (rejoice!) battery lasts up to two days. It's recommended that you let it charge whenever not in use, not use up the batteries then charge. I think a full charge takes 2 hours.
