This is my 3rd, count 'em 3rd Palm Pilot. Had one of the originals and then a IIIx past them down. Both the priors are still working just fine by the way.
The screen resolution is disappointing with the IIIc, in my opinion. But it might be my over 40 eyes. I think it's the IIIc. I'm not sure I'm going to like the built in battery either. It was a very handy thing to just carry two AAA's when traveling now I have to deal with a charger. So the jury is out on the Nicads.
8 Megs of Memory is a nice touch. I understand this is also available on the Vx - which I was tempted by.
Any Palm Pilot has a few limitations this one included. There is still no easy way to use it as you would the VII although via modem. Dialing into and ISP to do email would be a better thing, I think, than calling my computer and synching. If the prior is possible it's not an obvious feature. Many add-on software packages are quite limited - reminds me of the old dos days and simple visual basic software apps.
Clearly the IIIc is an upgrade from the original and then the IIIx. Add some improvement in the screen and ISP interactivity this would be complete. But don't get me wrong - couldn't live without my PPIIIc.
