I have had occasion to use the various Palm devices at work and needless to say, I love the Palm IIIx the best. It is my trusted workhorse and comes with ample memory to help me use it very productively. The Palm IIIx improves upon the original Palm III with a better display and more memory, 4 MB.
The Palm V has 2 MB memory like the Palm III - you'll love the Palm V once you see it and feel how light it is when compared to the Palm III series. The Palm V is much sleeker, can easily fit in your shirt pocket and has a much better display than the Palm III series.
I have both devices and find the Palm IIIx to fit easily into a leather case, without fear of dropping it unlike the palm V which is smaller.
You'll have to decide which one is more important - to have more memory or have the latest. I think Palm is now coming out with a new line of devices that includes the Palm Vx with 8 MB RAM and prices could drop just before the Christmas season.
