If you're looking for an easy way to *final* get some control back in your life :-). You've found it.
The Palm IIIx is easy to use and can handle your everyday need for adresses, e-mail, memos, and even has room for lots of games and e-books.
I started out with this PDA, and I must say that the Palm OS is made very simple. The Palm dosn't try to be a mini PC, it only tries to be a electronic assistant and nothing more. That's what makes it to good.
But then again if you're looking for your second PDA, you might want to look at the newer Palm IIIxe. It's the same PDA, but has 8 MB of RAM instead to the 4 MB in the IIIx.
And if that's not enough, then try the Handspring models, for easy installation of RAM moduls and many other things.
