I bought my Palm V initially because I was feeling left out ! I had a Psion 3c which I had bought for its keyboard but I soon found that all the really sexy software available on the Internet was for the Palm. So, I splashed out and bought the lovely Palm V.
It's great. It's portable. It's small. And the stylus is so easy to use. I've had my Palm V now for over a year and during that time I've downloaded various pieces of software but have finally standardised on a few core programs that I use daily. These include DateBk4, Life Balance, Checkbook, AvantGo, Hackmaster, UnDupe, DiddleBug, DateMate, FlashPro and QED.
The Palm V synchronises with my mail and my calendar so I don't need to lug my laptop around with me all the time. Which is great news.
I can't recommend the Palm V highly enough. To get the most value out of it you do need to spend some time downloading software to try and finding the most appropriate set of utilities for you. You also need to play around with software such as DateBk4 to find out what it can do - and it can do a lot, especially in conjunction with Life Balance.
The only downside to the Palm V is its 2MB of memory. I would now like more. FlashPro expands the memory capacity to nearly 3MB but I still find myself running short and having to restrain myself from downloading the next cool thing. More memory would allow me to download more books onto my Palm. But that really is only a minor niggle.
Overall the Palm functionality and software are excellent and managing my life has never been so easy.
