I got my Palm V in July 1999. Some of my friends have Windows CE PDA's. I chose the Palm V due to it's sleek design and battery life. I've been using my Palm V daily as a replacement for my Day Runner System. The sleek design of the Palm V makes it really easy to carry in my shirt pocket. The rechargeable batteries really last.
I've been using my palm to keep all of my scheduling, contact, and expense info. I also keep to-do lists. I tried to use the email interface, but I just get too much email to make it work.
I've bought lots of software accessories. FlashPro is probably one of the most useful programs that I've bought. This program allows me to move programs to ROM. With only 2 MB of RAM, the Palm V is really limited without this utility. 3COM should have delivered these with 8 MB RAM as standard.
Backup Buddy is another must. It backs everything up. The default backup is not really enough. I recently upgraded to the Palm 3.3 OS and I needed to use my backup. I had some problems during the Flash to my Palm V. However the recover process was pretty straight forward.
Another accessory, I'd recommend is the AvantGo service. I'm downloading Maps and directions to my Palm V. This is great! Prior to a business or personal trip I get maps of my destination and places nearby.
There is plenty of cool software available. Some multi-player games that use the IR port.
