The Palm VII is a fantastic organzier for people who are constantly on the go. It has the standard datebook, Graffiti pad, To-Do list and other features. With the Hot-Sync connection, you can hook it up to your computer and back up all your files. You even dowload games to play. But the best new feature of this current version is the antenna for the wireless internet connection. You can access websites to check scores, stock quotes, get maps serach Yahoo!, or even check your e-mail from anywhere in the...stop right there! As great as this sounds, there are still many hitches that go along with it. For the most part, the features tend to work pretty well. You are, in fact, able to get scores, stock quotes, airline tickets, maps, etc. The one big catch is that you have to be a member of "Palm.net". For a nominal fee, your account will be activated and you can use the internet serivce as you please, without having to log in. For e-mail, it is slightly more difficult. The only e-mail that you can check is that which you have at "Palm.net". This is free with your account, but it is a pain to use if your normal e-mail service is on another program or website. This still means that you can't check your home or work e-mail on the road. The other major drawback is that there is limited service for the internet access. You must be near a major metropolitan area, otherwise there will not be a signal strong enough to access the websites. Despite these drawbacks, it is still worth buying if you do most of your traveling in large cities.
