I first bought the GoType! keyboard, but ended up returning it. The GoType has it's own base, it makes it easier to type on your lap whereas the Palm Portable Keyboard needs a flat surface. But since I am not very likely to need/want to type on my lap and the GoType is much bigger, I am much happier with this foldup keyboard.
The design is just too cool. You almost have to see it to believe it. Everyone who I've showed this too is amazed at the mechanism. The unit seems quite sturdy when folded up, I'm not even using the little pouch that it came with.
It's quite easy to type on, in fact I'm typing on it now-in bed! I will then sync the Palm to my desktop computer and copy and paste the text into epinions. The full size keys are really nice and the latest driver works perfectly well.
This is a neat product that will certainly make your Palm more useful. You will find that typing letters, emails and notes both when you are out sitting in a cafe, or even just when you are at home but not right at your computer desk is great. Personally, I often like to type at the dining room table, in the living room by the fire, or in bed.
