Pros:Small, yet full size! no batteries.
Cons:None

I love my Palm V and do not mind graphitti one bit. But there are days i just want to write a journal entry or type an email, which i would never do with graphitti, it would just be a waste of time and my goal for my palm, is to save time and make my life more effecient. Enter the Palm Foldable Keyboard.

I bought mine on ebay, and i got it for $70, even though they usually go for more there. Lucky Me. I was so excited when it arrived, i love the cute little thin neoprene zipper case it comes with. My keyboard is this weird mettalic brown color, and i love that too. I have never seen such a color, didn't expect it and immediately got over the fact that for some reason i thought it would be silver. Brown is the best.

It comes with the software on CD, loads easy, once you're done installing software, just unfold the keyboard, push it together with handles, pull out the stand and walla! It takes about 3 seconds and you're ready. Place your palm in the connecter/cradle part and it leans against the stand upright. It HAS to be placed on a flat surface. Bummmer. But if push comes to shove, and you have NONE, a book or magazine will do in case of emergencies. You have to take the palm out of the case in most cases.

The keyboard has these cute little "hot keys" for switching between programs (mail, memo, notes, etc. ) and you can easily change them to correspond with whatever program you have on your palm. I made one for the wordprocessing program i use, QED. I use the hot keys all the time, the learning curve for the additional features on the keyboard is simple. I can do so much with this keyboard. I wish i had more memory in my palm, i would use it as a laptop.

For instance. I have my palm and keyboard by the bedside at night. Sometimes, if i have an idea in the middle of the night, or right when i wake up, i just open the keyboard, plug in my palm, hit my memo hot key and go to town. ALL WITH THE LIGHTS STILL OFF! (yes, i am a touch typist).

Most of the time i use it for emails, word processing, bring it to the cafe and jot down websites and stuff from magazines, i use it with "QuickSheet" for my finances, and couple other things.

The keyboard is so remarkable because it is absolutely full size! It is extremely comfortable, and quite, unlike this one i am using right now at work!

As far as other detials. Man, i don't even notice it draining any power from my Palm V, but that's it's power source. Cool. I am so glad it does not need batteries, saves a lot of headache. It turns your palm on as you connect. It closes just as fast as it opens, and you just snap it shut at the corners.

Why would anyone even think of getting a different keyboard, like that woeful "Gotype" thing, UGH. The whole point of the technology is to make it as effecient as possible. I really love Stowaway for making this amazing product. The palm has changed my life, and Stowaway just makes it more fun and usable.

If you want to start making ideas happen, start writing them down in a place where you can retreive it. If you get yourself this keyboard, you will be writing them down all the time. Whenever, wherever. An idea is a terrible thing to waste.
