Pros:No batteries;auto-sensing driver, regular size keyboard, similar to laptop-style
Cons:Only works for Palm, price, not too stable, drivers are ify
The Bottom Line: Buy it for it's time saving capabilities. The price is a little harsh, and it only works for Palm, but if you have a Palm it's great.
Stowaway Portable Keyboard: Palm
"It's as small as your wallet," my friend said to me when I was constantly complaining about the pain of writing in the Palm sensor space with the sensor pen. I just did not have the time to spend learning how to adjust my handwriting to fit how the Palm naturally detects it. So, when my friend told me about the Stoaway Portable Keyboard I jumped on the idea. The Stoaway Portable Keyboard in a sense has been a life saver for me, and I'm sure many others.
Lets face it not a whole lot of people have the amount of cash to dish out to get a Palm, but if you can then you definitely should put in the money to get a Stoaway Portable Keyboard. The 99 dollar price tag found on this product is a little hefty, but it is definitely well worth it. The Palm is a great little device, and it will help you organize your time, your phone numbers, addresses(etc). However if you find your self spending more time trying to spell out words with the sensor space then you do with the rest of the day you should quickly go out and make the investment to get this keyboard. It is light, compact, and easy to use just as the Palm was developed to be. If you got the cash or don't I recommend you find a way to get this peripheral regardless of the price, it will help you in the long run.
A few negatives of the Stoaway Portable Keyboard are the following: (1.)It is only usable for Palm brand devices. If you were to have a Handspring, for example, you would not be able to use this. (2.)Obviously the price but when you narrow it down it really is worth it. (3.)Needs flat area to rest on, so you can't just type on your lap. (4.)It requires a setup and the drivers aren't always the greatest.
In conclusion, I stand by my word that this is a great easy to use cheap and effective keyboard to accompany the Palm, but it has many -possibly annoying- limitations.
Have a good day thanks for reading
