| astidham's Full Review: Canon BJC 2000 InkJet Printer |
In July 2000, I purchased my first home computer. I did not need a huge, expensive, complicated computer for my needs. After all, all I planned on doing was playing around on the internet and sending emails. After searching through the sale papers, I came across a deal from Circuit City. After all was said and done (rebates mailed off and checks received) I paid $150 for an emachine computer and monitor with a scanner and Canon BJC-2000 printer thrown in. What did I have to lose?
I am not very computer literate. I know how to sign on and play around. Thus, what printer I got didn't really matter to me as long as it printed and was legible. So, I am more than happy and surprised at the quality of the Canon BJC-2000. It prints very clearly and the quality is as good as the expensive printer I have at work which cost much more. I have not experienced any problems with this printer.
Installation was extremely easy. After following the directions which included pictures, I quickly had my printer hooked up to the computer. A disc was included and you followed instructions on printer setup. Also included with the disc were free American Greetings Creata Card and Crayola Print Factory. The setup worked for Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0.
I have moderately used my printer since last July and have had no problems. However, the black ink cartridge ran out just this week. I was printing a report for my friend's son when it ran out. This was kind of a bummer as I had to run out and buy another one. I don't feel like I have used the printer enough that the ink should already have run out. In reading other epinions, I have noticed other people having this same complaint. The good thing is the cartridge is easily replaced. When you open the lid on the printer, there is a box which holds the black ink cartridge and the color ink cartridge. The black is separate and easily pulls out.
Overall, I have been very pleased with my printer. It doesn't print extremely fast, but for home use it is fine. I wouldn't recommend it for a home business in which you do a lot of printing, but for personal use it does the job.
