Cons: Ink is expensive
The Bottom Line: Perfect for photos, just has the speed and quality one would look for. I am all out impressed.

We bought our Epson 870 about 3 years after the purchase of our Stylus 500. Unlike the 500 we have not thus far had any problems with ink drying and damaging the ink heads if not used within so much time and the ink level sensors seem to work a little bit more reliably.
This machine I found to print nice and fast, good to have a sturdy stand for it ^^, with nice colors and high quality images.
Still a little new to us, but in the last 4 months we have not had any problems with the ink drying from lack of use, The one concern that I have with it is the price of the ink wells for it, it is great for its photo quality, but may I suggest something else a little more efficient if you are using it for generic printing purposes like letters, school.. etc.
