We have had an old Hewlett Packard printer since we bought
our first computer many years ago. The printer was sufficient
but did not have the features that we grew to need, such as
photo printing, quality color printing, ability to print
on different types of paper, etc. With my being in school
full-time, we needed a printer that was fast and that would
print quality prints for my business class projects. I
need to print graphics and charts and they need to be
clear and easy to read. My old cheap HP printer was not
cutting it. We needed something new and improved.
We bought our HP DeskJet 952C at Best Buy for $270.
I can honestly say I adore this printer and it has made my
life so much easier. First off, I love the appearance of
the printer. It's not a small product, but the grey and
purple 'outer shell' of the HP DeskJet 952C is
attractive.
Some of the great features of the HP DeskJet 952C
include:
* printer software and user guide included
* black and color print cartridge included; both are loaded
at once.
* awesome photo quality and printing software. The photos
we have printed on the HP photo paper are superb. They could
not be any clearer than they are. HP DeskJet 952C
inclues some 4x6 photo paper to use on the built in photo
tray. The only thing is that glossy photo paper is very
expensive. But it is easy to whip out color photes quickly
and easily without having to run to the film developing
store. Photos printed on the regular printer paper come
out great as well.
* 11 pages per minute for black and white and 8.5 pages per
minute for color prints. This printer is very fast. I can
print out a long research paper in no time. I have not had
one paper jam yet, even when printing a huge paper or multiple
jobs at once.
* you can use a wide range of papers for creating brochures,
stickers, CD labels, envelopes, transparencies, signs, and
posters. This is great for greeting cards and address labels.
You can buy these labels at most stores. You can even do
iron-on transfers! This printer will handle transparencies
for presentations as well.
* compatible with Windows NT 4.0, 95, 98, 3.1, Mac, etc.
* quiet printing compared to other printers I have used.
* easy touch buttons include: cancel, print cartridge status,
resume, power.
* HP DeskJet 952C comes with a 1 year warranty.
* only 13.1 pounds without cartridges
* dimensions are 17 x 8 x 15 in
* 2 sided printing available
* very easy to load paper and photos
* printer includes sample stationary, evelopes, and photo
paper. This was great so that we could print off photos
right away.
* you can purchase special HP paper to go along with your
printer, such as photo HP Premium Plus (4x6), HP photo paper,
HP textured greeting cards, etc.
