| robcfoster's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Deskjet 952c InkJet Printer |
I have been a fan of HP printers for some time. My first color printer for personal use was an HP DeskJet 540C - it had the capacity for only one ink cartridge at a time - it was necessary to switch the cartridge to print in color. I bought mine when the 540C was "hot" several years ago... I just last month retired it (it still works fine!) in favor of the dual-cartridge, quieter, quicker, higher-output-quality DeskJet 952C.
I am a Network Engineer, supporting 200 local networked users. We have numerous printers on our network (@ 30 DeskJets, 20 Lasers). The vast majority are HP, so I have some experience with HP quality from a professional perspective over the last 12 years as well.
So I researched, read reviews, and purchased the 952C. In a nutshell: The printer installed, configured, and printed in a few short and un-eventful minutes.
My wife likes to print graphics; in the first couple of days, she gave the printer a workout, and the 952C seemed to respond with "Is that all you want? Here it is!"
Having said all that - I have experienced one minor issue: When printing small #6-3/4 envelopes, the 952C tends to allow the envelope to slide somewhat, printing the addresses at an angle. On standard #10 envelopes, the 952C aligns the addresses quite well, and produces a very nice professional looking result.
