Pros: Quiet printing at an affordable price, by a name you can trust.
Cons: Takes a few seconds longer than my last four printers to begin printing.
The Bottom Line: You can easily install with one hand tied behind your back and still come out with outstanding performance.

| Teraisa1's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Deskjet 930c InkJet Printer |
Three of my four working printers are Hewlett Packard. I stick with them for the simple reason:
If it breaks, they take care of me.
HP does this easily and quickly. I know, because it happened to me. In brief, should you ever need to contact HP, you will be disappointed that the only toll free number they list is to buy something. Yes, you will have to dial long distance. This is a complete bummer. Especially after spending two minutes just finding the right button to push to talk to a live operator, then spending a few moments on hold waiting for the right operator.
But! Guess what? After 22 minutes online, they not only took care of my problem (the memory was wiped out for some reason) IMMEDIATELY (shipped me a new one in only four days and paid postage back for the old one), but they ALSO included a 30 minute phone card.
I do prefer my printer to always work, but at least I am in good hands if something goes astray.
That out of the way...
I have no problems whatsoever with this 930C printer (okay, I HATE the prices of the ink), except one, and it's almost embarrassing to admit.
"Listen."
"To what?" says my sarcastic teenager.
"That's what I mean, you hear--" I was cut off by the quiet sound of my printer. I was about to tell her to listen to my VERY QUIET printer when I realized it wasn't that quiet, it just hadn't started yet.
That's my only peeve. It takes this printer a few seconds to start. At first I thought maybe it needed to warm up. But after a few weeks, it couldn't be that. It's not really a big deal. A few seconds isn't going to change my life, but it irritated me, and it still does each and every time I print. How sad am I? Always in a hurry. Sigh.
Anyway, the printing is fabulous for a writer. Clear words and graphics. I have no need for photo quality, but it does state in the instructions that I have it with HP's 930C, so I will take their word for it.
Installation is a breeze. You do not even need to read, the pictures are completely BIG and understandable. My four-year-old had it up and running in five minutes. Okay, just kidding, but I am like a four-year-old when it comes to electricity, wires and moving parts.
If you are looking for a decent affordable printer, look no further.
