I paid "how much?" for this printer?

My HP600C printer is dying and I have stuff to print. I need a replacement but I don't want to spend a fortune. I don't want something that looks cheap or that has poor quality print.

Xerox to the rescue!
I went to Best Buy in search of a good, inexpensive printer. I looked at the many different models and brands that had a good price after mail-in rebate. (***Side note -- I don't trust mail-in rebates!***)
I was about to give up and go elsewhere when I spotted the Xerox at the end of the counter. The price tag showed $79.99 with a $30 rebate. I didn't mind spending $80 on a printer, but the thought of a $30 rebate never received didn't appeal to me. Then I noticed that this was an "instant rebate" - now the printer had my attention. A new printer for $50!
The demo page that was printed at the store looked good. The graphics and text were sharp(even on cheap paper). The printer looked like a good deal. I especially liked the idea that I could replace individual colors at about $13 each instead of a whole cartridge at $30. So I bought it!
I got the printer home and unpacked it. The feeder tray was difficult to get in place correctly. It took several attempts to finally get it to snap in place. It also took a few attempts to get the ink cartridges seated correctly. With all that done, the drivers were installed with no problem at all.
I ran the printer through the cleaning and alignment routines before starting to print. The print was good.
I am quite impressed with the quality of this printer. It is a little noisy, but not anywhere near as loud as the Epson dot matrix that I once owned.
This is a good, low priced printer. It carries a one year warranty from Xerox. If the printer only lasts 18 months, it has cost me less than $3 a month.
