ramblerman's Full Review: Xerox DocuPrint P8E Laser Printer
I got this printer many moons ago as a gift. Overall, since I use it very little, I have not had too many complaints. There are some VERY strange things that a buyer of a used one of these should be aware.
1) The machine uses a lot of power. Even when plugged in to it's own outlet, the thing still makes my lights flicker, yes, even when on it's own circuit.
2) The programs that come with the machine never help diagnose a problem.
3) When printing a form or on label stock, the computer acts like it is freezing up, when actually it is asking you to hit the form feed button as your approval that the correct paper is loaded. EACH PIECE OF PAPER YOU HAVE TO HIT THE BUTTON AGAIN AND AGAIN.
If there is a way around this issue, I could not find it.
4) I hope you never have to replace the print cartridge. It is SUPER EXPENSIVE. I could but 3-4 ink jet printers, complete with starter ink and still be at a lower cost than the price of a replacement cartridge.
5) The unit comes factory with 4MB RAM. Today, you can not print much with that unless you just do a lot of text printing.
If it was not a gift, I would have taken this thing back.
