| jrjohnston's Full Review: Hewlett Packard CD-Writer Plus 9200i CD-RW Burner |
When I got the 9200e drive, it was one of the fastest available. I did a lot of research and decided on a SCSI type drive. Many friends had had problems with the IDE versions. I decided on the HP based on price and reputation. I have not regretted my decision. The HP 9200e has been great. I have made hundreds of data and audio CDs without problems. Any "coasters" I have made could be directly traced to errors I made and by pushing my system beyond where it was designed to operate. I have used all speeds from the slowest to fastest. This drive works very well under Windows 2000 although you need an upgraded version of the Adaptec software for this operating system. DirectCD also works well under windows 2000.
